Somerset wedding photographer – Robin Goodlad
Specialising in creative documentary wedding photography and wedding photojournalism
Hi, I’m Robin, a South-west based Somerset wedding photographer, with a true passion for photography, and capturing every detail of a wedding from start to finish. I love searching for and working with the best possible light, and working with couples who really connect with my style, but might not feel confident behind the camera.
Getting to know each and every couple is key to ensuring that you feel comfortable with the camera, and the pure emotion and joy of your wedding day really shines through in your photographs. My documentary style is key, with a focus upon observation of moments, based on instinct and experience, rather than orchestration, it is your day after all!
Telling the story beautifully is key for me, which is why I never leave until I know I have captured every detail, even if it means finishing at midnight. This is what all day coverage truly means.
Photography is everything to me, I am a storyteller through pictures rather than words, and I apply the same meticulous detail and craftsmanship to each and every wedding I photograph.
if you re getting married in Somerset, or indeed anywhere in the South West, please drop me a line to say hi, I’d love to talk about working with you!
Choosing the right photographer for your wedding is essential, ensuring you connect with the style, so you know you will love the photographs. Photography is an investment, one which will be passed down through the generations. A camera is a tool, it is the photographer behind it that creates the magic. For me, it is absolutely essential to get to know you as a couple so that I can bring out the best in you. This is why all of my wedding coverage includes a complimentary engagement shoot, the moment to get creative and allow your personalities to shine, your wedding day photographs will be so much better for it.
When I photograph a wedding, all day coverage means just that, from dawn to midnight if required. It is your day, the story doesn’t finish at the first dance, and I believe your photo story shouldn’t either. I photograph quietly, though observation, not orchestration. We spend time getting to know each other beforehand, so on the day you will forget I am even there, and can concentrate on enjoying the day, safe in the knowledge your story is being captured beautifully.

Another year has flown by, and what a year it has been. Time for the annual review, even though there is still one more wedding to go on New Year’s eve, and no doubt a few more favourites to choose from, I love fireworks! With over 100,000 photos taken in the year, it...
