Silchester farm is a simply stunning new venue, hidden away in the rolling Hampshire Countryside. Created  as a contemporary location for exclusive luxury wedding hire, Silchester Farm still maintaining oodles of rural charm. I’ve had my eye on photographing weddings here for a while, so when Toby and Lauren asked me to shoot their winter wedding, it was most definitely a yes from me! Lauren and Toby went for a black tie theme, which perfectly suited the season, and gave the wedding a real touch of class.

The day started chilly with Storm Arwen on the way, but boy were we blessed with some incredible winter light, my absolute favourite! As soon as the sun appeared and we decided to nip out for some portraits, the heavens opened again before each wave of rain passed on, but this meant only one thing, rainbows! I have seen one or two on a wedding day before, never three!

As the evening drew in, everyone moved to the warm and cosy barn with it’s comfy button back sofas, and roaring log fire. What a beautiful place Silchester Farm is.

Historic Silchester farm

The threshing barn has been beautifully restored, with the oak beams providing a warm and cosy shelter with plenty of light. The open barn provides plenty of shelter, which means there is always daylight for portraits whatever the weather, and the cow shed is one of the most amazing reception spaces I have seen, with polished concrete floors, warm colours and bare bulb lighting giving a real edgy, yet homely feel. The gardens and pond, surrounded by the beautiful willow, will just get better and better over time.

If you are getting married at Silchester Farm please get in touch, I’d love to talk about your plans!
