Autumn is perhaps my favourite time of year for a wedding, and it was an honour to be asked to be Sally and Ryan’s Old Vicarage wedding photographer for their Dorset and Hampshire wedding, as whilst the weather can be temperamental, I knew the colours were going to be amazing, and the light is always fantastic, with warm low sunlight, and soft tones.
When we met at the Old Vicarage to discuss their plans, we talked about adding as many fairy lights as possible, which would be the perfect way to add a little magic and sparkle now the evenings were drawing in. I always suggest adding as much light as possible at a wedding, as light is so important for photography, and I am a real sucker for bokeh backgrounds!
The wedding was a real family affair, with Sally and Ryan’s 3 children playing a key role (and of course Ryan’s pride and joy, his VW camper!) It was great to see the bridesmaids driving this to the venue with the wedding party in the back!
Sally and Ryan prudently suggested that guests brought wellies just in case, and even though it didn’t rain, the guests wore them anyway in the evening, primarily because everyone had gone to so much effort to decorate them! I’ve never seen wellies with fairy lights before, they all looked magical!
I stayed quite late as always as I wanted to tell the story, and there was quite a party, even the famous Old Vicarage deer got in on the action!
if you are looking for a Hampshire wedding photographer, or someone to cover your wedding photography at the Old Vicarage in Dorset please get in touch, I would love to hear about your plans!
