River Cottage is the most beautiful venue for weddings with so many opportunities for beautiful wedding photography, tucked away in the rolling hills on the Devon and Dorset border. I know and understand the ethos of River Cottage very well, having grown up following the work of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, and I bought his first ever book when it was released. I have always had an affinity for wild food, and I have since developed my own smallholding, producing my own livestock and vegetables, and while this has little to do with wedding photography, it shows how much of a connection I have with River Cottage. If you have chosen River cottage for your wedding, then I know this will be important to you as well.
River Cottage is a beautiful location for photography too, with beautiful light, textured stone walls, orchards, and an incredible view across the Devon countryside, which is perfect for sunsets. All of these elements fit my rustic yet contemporary style of photography perfectly. As a very experienced Devon and Dorset wedding photographer, combining all of these elements and telling the story of your wedding and where it is forms a key part of my photography style.
Your wedding at River Cottage
There are so many elements at River Cottage which make it perfect for a rustic wedding. Let’s start with the food, whcih is always sublime, always interesting, and totally at one with nature and the seasons. The barn which was restored after the fire in 2012 is the perfect location for your wedding breakfast, and then there are the cosy yurts, with warm fires. The vegetable and herb garden is always full of interest, and then of course there is the classic view of Park Farm itself, which says River Cottage like nothing else.
River Cottage can be found near to Lyme regis on the Devn and Dorset Border with the historic carpet town of Axminster nearby. The iconic Jurassic coast, famous for fossil hunting, is only a stones throw away, and while guests are at River Cottage for the wedding, they have access to explore the 100 acre farm, so it really is the perfect way to spend your wedding weekend.
If you are looking for a River Cottage wedding photographer with a style which perfectly matches the venue, then please get in touch, I’d love to talk about working with you!
