I was super excited to be be asked to be Michelle and Dan’s wedding photographer at Tunnels Beaches, a venue I have wanted to shoot at for a long time. Accessible through a long tunnel under the cliffs and hidden away in a corner of Ilfracombe, the venue opens out spectacularly in a tiny cove, above its own private beach. The views are simply stunning, and the exclusivity is magical. Three separate levels, a terrace with a fire pit, and a hidden path down to the beach make this the perfect bespoke wedding venue.
This place really comes in to it’s own though, as the sun begins to set. The sunsets are incredible, and the opportunities to wander along a beach on your wedding day all by yourself, are sublime. After the sunset, the venue lights up beautifully, and there is time to pull up a deckchair round the fire, toast marshmallows, or eat ice cream, with the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach below.
Michelle and Dan had the perfect summers’ day, and a soft sunset, as the sun dropped behind the hazy clouds in the Bristol Channel. A sparkler exit at midnight finished the day just perfectly. As always, I’ll let the photos tell the story.
See you again soon Tunnels Beaches!
