I adore the Lake District, a place I used to call home, and have spent many happy days here. So when Lucy and Johann got in touch to tell me about their plans for a relaxed elopement style wedding, encompassing everything that makes the Lake District such an incredibly spectacular and special place, I just had to say yes to being their wedding photographer.

Lucy and Johann really wanted to encapsulate the landscape in their photography. Being a passionate landscape photographer I knew of many perfect locations we could use around Grasmere and Langdale. Although a small and intimate wedding with close family and friends staying and making the most of the weekend, what I loved about this wedding was how much time Lucy and Johann wanted to devote to their photographs. We spent plenty of time around Grasmere lake, and ventured up above Langdale after the first dance, with Lucy in an amazing sequinned dress for some more photos. I timed this just for sunset, and when I spotted the gorgeous layering of the mountain of the Langdale Pikes and Bowfell in the background, what a perfect place to re-enact the first dance, with that view. As I often do, I stepped back and observed from afar, to give them the chance to feel like it was just the two of them, amongst the mountains.

An absolutely unforgettable day! As always, I’ll let the photos tell the story…..

Lake District wedding photography- need a photographer?

I love photographing in the Lake District, with so many diverse opportunities for photography, and come rain or shine, the photographs will always look amazing. It is an area that I know very well, and will happily recommend numerous locations for beautiful photographs which encapsulate the ethos of the Lake District. If you would like to see some of my landscape work of the Lake District, please have a look here.

I photograph in a predominantly documentary style, but also making time for a sprinkle of creativity, and of course to ensure that I tell the story of where you are getting married. I only photograph a limited number of weddings per year, however if you are getting married in the lake District, I’d love your wedding to be one of them! Please get in touch to find out if I am available for your wedding day, or to receive a copy of my latest wedding brochure.
