Wedding photography in Iceland

The magic of Iceland, where superlatives are hard to find with so many breathtaking vistas around every corner. If you are reading this, then I guess you are planning to get married in Iceland or are thinking of an elopement, and if photography is important to you, then you are in the right place!

I’m Robin, an established and multi award winning wedding and location portrait photographer based in the UK. With a degree in geology, the landscape of Iceland has always held a great fascination for me, it is a joy to be able to combine this with my passion for wedding photography and top photograph couples getting married in the incredible landscapes of Iceland.

How my wedding photography in Iceland works

However big or small your Iceland wedding, my documentary focus combined with relaxed and authentic location portraits can be totally bespoke to your requirements.  If you are travelling from the UK, then we can chat and make plans beforehand, and spend as much or as little time on your photography as you would like, which includes the wedding day itself, and either the day before or day after too if you wish, for location portraits.

You can find out all about my standard approach and coverage here, as connecting with my style is incredibly important. The cost of your investment in your wedding photography is the same, with the simple addition of a flat £600 travel fee, plus £250-450 for a pre or post wedding location shoot, where I can be your tour guide and take you to some of the most incredible locations Iceland has to offer. The best of both worlds – documentary photography of your wedding day, and beautiful range of relaxed photos of you within the incredible landscape of Iceland.

Named as one of the Rising Stars of wedding photography in the world by New York’s Rangefinder Magazine.

Hi, I’m Robin. I’ve been photographing weddings around the UK and across the world for 15 years, and my style, which has gained me accolades such as being named as one of the Rangefinder Magazine 30 Rising Stars, and one of the top 20 Fearless Photographers in the world, both of which celebrate that unique angle, and to be able to really integrate you into the landscape that tells the story of where you are getting married, and why. I have a deep understanding of the landscape, and the weather, and combine this to get the most beautiful portraits, but ones which are also authentic to you. As posed or as unposed as you wish, just capturing you as you are, enjoying the magic of Iceland.

Dancing under the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights

It’s everyone’s dream to see the aurora or northern lights in Iceland, and while you can get lucky, having a photographer on board who knows exactly what to look for and when, and how to maximise the opportunities which will make a huge difference. I have chased the aurora myself across Scandinavia and the UI too, and know the best ways to capture this incredible spectacle, so if there is a chance, then I will find them.  For something so important as a memory of your wedding day, it is crucial to know the right time and place to be able to enjoy the northern lights.

Iceland wedding venues

Iceland has so many incredible locations for both weddings, and wedding photography portraits, from the black sands and basalt columns of Reynisjvara, the incredible waterfalls of Gulfoss, Skogafoss, and Seljalandsfoss, The Geysers of the Golden Circle, The Katla Ice Cave and the Diamond Beach where bergs flow from the glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón, or even safely amongst the lava fields near the recent eruption at Grindavik, the opportunities are endless. I can help you choose ones which will work well with your plans, and we can travel together to many of the locations, so the photography will be effortless.

Planning the perfect wedding in Iceland

One of the most magical things about Iceland is of course the landscape, and there is so much to see it is hard to know where to start, and how to incorporate this into your wedding plans. I can be on hand to advise about weather, travel, wedding plans, anything wedding related to help you along the way.

There is so much more to wedding photography

than the day itself –

It’s about reminding you how it felt,

With photography that tells your story beautifully.

If you are planning your wedding in Iceland, then it would be amazing to chat to you both about your plans, and to see how we might be able to work some magic together.
