Whatever the season, I just love Axnoller. I’ve covered photography for weddings at Axnoller through all seasons, and in each it has a unique beauty, with the beautifully coloured courtyards, and nooks and crannies providing the perfect backdrops, and the houses themselves are simply stunning. The view from the barn, with it’s large glass doors provides an incredible vista across the north Dorset hills.
Georgie and Omar got married at Axnoller in autumn, and I was really pleased they chose me for their wedding photography, I love autumn weddings. On the day, we were faced with the infamous Storm Brian, bringing strong gales and heavy showers from the south west, however fortunately as Axnoller nestles on the north side of the hill, it enjoys shelter, and the courtyards themselves provide cover. Still, there is an art to making the most of the weather as a wedding photographer, and I relished the challenge. It is all about getting out when the weather is good, and we were lucky to enjoy the perfect rainbow, which you only get when it is raining! It is advice I always give to brides and grooms, whatever the weather on the day, get out there and embrace it, you will remember the moment, but perhaps not the weather.
Georgie and Omar finished the day with a sparkler exit late in the night, I like to stay late for these moments as they are an important part of telling the story, it was blowing a gale, and they weren’t sure whether to go ahead, but still, with some careful planning I was able to ensure the sparklers were all lit together. It is all about making the most of the moment!
As always, I’ll let the photos tell the story!
