When Allison and Luke suggested heading to Christchurch Priory with me, their wedding photographer, for their engagement shoot, I knew we were going to have a great evening, with plenty of opportunity for one amazing photos, and the light didn’t disappoint. They are getting married at Axnoller in Dorset this July, and it is great honour to have been chosen to photograph their wedding.

Amongst the majestic walls of the Priory, the old streets of Christchurch, Christchurch Castle ruins, and down by the river near the King’s Arms, there were so many pockets of beautiful light. An engagement shoot is a really important part of getting to know your photographer, and also for your photographer to get to know you. It also gives you a much better understanding of how your photographer will work on the day, and how they can help you look (even more!) incredible on the day.

As a wedding photographer, I am always looking for beautiful soft natural light, and little pockets of light among the shadows. I just loved this shoot!

We took time to get warmed up, and as the shoot progressed, they both became much more relaxed, and a lot more confident in front of the camera, which really shows. Such a happy couple, I can’t wait for the big day!
