I was really excited to be back at Axnoller as Ali and Luke’s wedding photographer this summer, as it is such an incredible venue, tucked away in the north Dorset hills. The perfect intimate and exclusive venue, with no distractions, only those whoa part of the big day. It is such a beautiful venue to photograph, with magical light bouncing around the courtyards with an almost mediterranean feel.
Ali and Luke’s story is a great one, they met when Luke was on holiday in New York, became friends, but then Luke returned home, and that was that. They found each other through social media a few years later, met up again, and the rest is history. Ali made the commitment to move to Dorset to be with Luke, and now they are married, that commitment has been reciprocated, and they have both moved to New York to spend their married life together. Such a lovely story!
This was a wedding which crossed and united continents, with Ali being Jewish, and Luke British, elements being taken from both styles and blended beautifully. The jewish ceremony was magical, outdoor under the Chuppah, in the bright Dorset sunshine, and the evening events started with the Hora, and incredible dance where the family of the bridge and groom were hoisted in the air on seats as part of the first dance. Such scenes of intense energy I have never seen before at a wedding, and it certainly added excitement to the day!
As always I took Ali and Luke off for a brief wander around the courtyards and gardens at Axnoller, with the magical little archways, too small for some perhaps, but perfectly suited to Ali and Luke.
Then followed a sparkler exit, and a finish well after midnight, but I just had to make sure I did Ali and Luke justice on their perfect day. Congratulations to you both!
