Although based in Dorset, Ed and Hannah decided to have their wedding in the celtic lands of Mid Wales, where Ed was born and raised. It’s a place close to my heart as a long time resident of Aberdovey, and it is a simply magical place like no other.
The day started with a Jetty jump in Aberdovey, quite often a tradition with an Aberdovey wedding (wedding dress and suit optional!) followed by the service in the beautiful ancient church at Llanegryn. Afterwards, they drove their VW camper ‘Bernie’ up above the magical Dysynni valley for some photos above Bird Rock, before the reception at Ed’s parent’s home, and a guard of honour from Ed’s colleagues on Poole lifeboat crew.
I normally try to link suppliers where I can, but with this wedding there were very few, for it was a real family and community event, drawing upon many talents, and this really shone through throughout the day, and made it even more personal.
A home-made bar made from half a boat, a great band, fabulous ice creams from the Sweet Shop in Aberdyfi, a spectacular sunset, and all topped off with a harvest moon-rise over the mountains. The perfect end to a perfect day.
So a huge congratulations, llongyfarchiadau, Mr and Mrs Davies!
As always, I’ll let the pictures tell the story.
If you are looking for an Aberdovey wedding photographer or a wedding photographer in Snowdonia please get in touch, I am always happy to come ‘home’ to photograph a wedding!
Beautiful wedding!!! Thanks for sharing it!
