A lively Larmer Tree wedding – Sophie and Marcus

Sophie and Marcus, where do I even begin?! There are wedding days, and then there are wedding days like this – bursting with fun, laughter, emotion, and energy from the very first moments right through to the dance floor at night. As a Larmer Tree wedding photographer, it’s days like this that remind me exactly why I love documentary wedding photography.

The morning began in the most joyful way, with Sophie and Marcus skipping in their pyjamas (coffee in hand, rollers in hair!) all the way from the beautiful King John House, where they had stayed, up to The Larmer Tree for their intimate civil ceremony with close family. It was the perfect, relaxed start to the day, filled with warmth and love.

Afterwards, the preparations continued with so much fun and anticipation, leading into a beautiful ceremony. One of the most memorable moments was the surprise pop-up choir, who sang an incredible version of Taylor Swift’s Lover – a magical soundtrack for the occasion that no one will forget.

From there the celebrations only grew. Riotous speeches, live music, and an open mic session made the most of the iconic Larmer Tree stage. Sophie and Marcus even had the honour of signing the famous backstage wall, joining a list of legendary performers who have played there over the years – from Paul McCartney to Rick Astley!

The evening flowed into an unforgettable party, led by a sax player who brought everyone back to the dancefloor for a night of high-energy celebration. It was the perfect ending to a truly remarkable wedding day at The Larmer Tree.
